Helping ASD Kids Succeed in the Classroom
During her tenure as a Professor of Education and a classroom teacher, Liane employed a variety of teaching styles to address individual learning style needs. Even before she knew about Asperger syndrome, Liane recognized the students in her classes whose thinking patterns and behaviors were similar to her own, were floundering in ways she could relate to. By the time her daughter was diagnosed with AS and a student herself, Liane had researched and applied strategies that were particularly helpful for any student with learning style difference, including AS. This presentation focuses on strategies that help to keep kids with ASD or other learning challenges, focused, productive, and emotionally and socially secure.
